While some of the regular COD multiplayer community prefers 2019's Modern Warfare's multiplayer, it's clear that Black Ops Cold War has got its own loyal audience to speak of. It remains to be seen whether things will change once Microsoft takes over Activision Blizzard properly, but with COD developers themselves launching content updates well into the next release's lifecycle, this sentiment may be getting more traction than ever before. While the COD community's reactions to each new game release aren't difficult to predict, the franchise's yearly schedule has been the target of much criticism as of late. Having never seen active combat in the real world, VAHAN is now represented as one of COD's many customized retrofits of concept-level firearms, allowing players to enjoy something that's not yet another AK clone. The Vargo 52 is a fictionalized version of the little-known Armenian VAHAN rifle. Though players are sorry to see WMD unexpectedly postponed, the new Black Ops Cold War assault rifle seems to be welcomed all the same. Though the customizable carbine is now readily available for players to unlock, Treyarch's latest statement says that WMD wasn't ready for launch just yet, implying unforeseen issues on that front. Originally pitched as a surprise update for Black Ops Cold War, this new release was supposed to add the fan-favorite WMD map from previous Treyarch COD games, as well as the Vargo 52 assault rifle. RELATED: Call of Duty Chart Shows the Cycle of How Fans React to Each Game The two major features that were supposed to be coming as part of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update was a new (albeit returning) map and a new assault rifle, though it would seem that only one of those has made the cut after all. One of the reasons why this is the case is that Treyarch's previous title is still receiving content updates, even today. Even though there's a newer title on the market, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War remains a popular choice for COD fans that may wish to stick with the distinctive Cold War aesthetic over that of the newer WW2-themed release.
